I’ve been building premium SEO infrastructure for nearly two decades and one thing I will never compromise on is using dedicated IP addresses for my networks.
I get criticized for it constantly. “It doesn’t matter.” “Google doesn’t care about IPs.” “Just use Cloudflare, it’s free.”
Here’s the thing β those people are applying regular website logic to a completely different situation.
Cloudflare’s IP ranges are publicly documented. They’re well known. And Google isn’t detecting problems through one single signal β it detects patterns and clusters across infrastructure. Multiple properties sharing the same well-known IP ranges, similar hosting fingerprints, similar registration behavior β that’s a pattern Google has seen millions of times and has gotten very good at recognizing.
Shared IP ranges can and do get flagged by Google’s crawlers. That’s not a conspiracy theory β it’s basic crawl behavior.
When you’re building something premium, where the investment is real and the results matter, you don’t cut corners on infrastructure hygiene. You think in layers. You reduce every known footprint signal you can control.
Dedicated IPs are one of those layers. Not the only one β but an important one.
For a budget PBN, shared hosting with Cloudflare might slide by. But for premium PBN work where the money links are valuable and the risk of deindexation is costly, dedicated IPs are simply the professional standard because:
